Journeyman Classes
A 2020 Code Book is required for all Code classes. Code Books are available from the JATC for $90.
Registration deadline is two weeks prior to start date. All fees must be paid at time of enrollment. To enroll in a course, contact the Training Center at janderson@qcejatc.org or 309.762.3270.

Training Programs
Inside Wireman
Our staff consists of 32 instructors. They attend training sessions at the University of Tennessee in the field of Adult Education. All our instructors are Journeyman Wiremen from their specific field or hold positions in our industry related to the subject they instruct. We have certified instructors in Siecor Fiberoptics, Lucent Technologies Category 5, structured wiring systems, and all telecommunication work.
On a local level, our industry invests $400,000 annually in training our apprentices and journeymen. Nationally, the IBEW and NECA invest $65,000,000 annually in training its workforce.
Over the last ten years we have graduated more than 200 apprentices to journeyman status.

Outside Wireman - Lineman
We provide quality training for the outside electrical industry. Our hope is to provide you with information needed to pursue a career in the exciting field of outside electrical construction, as well as information on supplementary training, certifications and relative information. The ALBAT Program is one of nine such apprenticeship and training programs in the nation dedicated to the outside electrical industry. Information can be found for all outside electrical apprenticeships at AJATC.
The American Line Builders Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (ALBAT) is a cooperative undertaking by the American Line Builders Chapter NECA and the IBEW, Fourth and Sixth Districts. This cooperative effort is in response to the need for a recognized pragmatic program for training persons in the skills of performing outside electrical construction work.
In addition to the apprenticeship program for the occupation of journeyman lineman, ALBAT also has training available for substation technician, traffic signal repairer/street light technician, and cable splicer technician in limited areas.
